A credit authorizer is one who decides whether the customer is worthy of extended credit after having reached his/her limit. Modern businesses depend on the credit department or credit agencies to determine who should receive credit and who should not therefore credit authorizers are employed by these departments and agencies to get to know their customers and evaluate the creditworthiness. 

?  Receive charge slips or credit applications by mail, or information from sales people or merchants by telephone. 

?  Mailing charge statements to customers. 

?  Evaluate customers' credit records, payment histories and to approve new credit 

based on predetermined standards. 

?  Keeping records of customer’s charges and payments. 

?  File sales slips in customer ledgers for billing purposes. 

A credit authorizer should be an active listener, a good speaker to convey information effectively, reading and understanding written sentences in work related documents and should be good in writing. The ability to make judgments and decisions.
